Top Ten Tuesday: Mainstream Popular Authors that I Still Have Not Read

After a long time welcome to Top 10 Tuesday meme post. If you don’t know about the Top 10 Tuesday, it is a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl over at That Artsy Reader Girl – A Book Blog in January of 2018. It was born out of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. You can find the list of topics for this month and past months Here.

The topic for this week is – Mainstream Popular Authors that I Still Have Not Read

Today’s topic just made me realise I have soo many well known authors whose books I haven’t read yet! I had a list way longer than the ten authors mentioned.

But I managed to cut down the list based on how long back I’ve heard about the authors. I have also included a few recently trending authors in hope that this post will finally push me to pick up at least one of their books next year 👀.

Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼So here are ten authors that are quite well known but I have not yet read any of their books!

1. Nicholas Sparks

The first author has to be Nicolas Sparks! I remember when I was not even aware I liked stories and reading, Nicolas Sparks was really famous back then, and whenever I searched for romance books to read, this author was the first to be recommended. But, I have yet to read any of their books.

2. Colleen Hoover

Well, do I really need to explain this one? 😅 Yes! I haven’t read Colleen Hoover and I am not sure if I ever will.

3. John Green

John Green piqued my curiosity after the Fault In Our Stars movie release. To be honest, I don’t know a lot about any other book by this author that I must read, but I definitely want to read The Fault In Our Stars some day and cry my eyes out as I did watching the movie 😔

4. Christina Lauren

Okay, I did pick up Beautiful Bastards last year by Christina Lauren, but for some reason that I can’t remember, I put it down. So yeah, not really an author that I didn’t pick up but more of an author whose book I have yet to finish reading.

5. Stephen King

Yup, being a horror fan I’ve never read any of, The King of Horror, Stephan King’s books! I actually want to read one of their books in the coming year, so I really, desperately need you guys’ recommendation on which one to pick up. The book must be short though as I plan to buddy read it with my better half, and both he and I are not a fan of longer books 😅

6. Rainbow Rowell

Back in the days when I just got introduced to booktube, Rainbow Rowell was that one author everyone was reading and talking about, hence I have been too intimidated to pick their books. I do own a copy of Fangirl and hope to read it someday…when I remember I have few books in my physical TBR, that is 😂🙈

7. Julia Quinn

Well… I am not sure if Julia has been getting more hype recently after the TV series adaptation of her Brigerton series, but I have seen them being hyped on booktube way long back so yeah, I am including Julia Quinn as well in this list.

8. Gillian Flynn

Who hasn’t heard of Gone Girl and read it?! Meeee, that’s who! 😅 I’ve heard great review on all of Gillian’s books, but haven’t picked up any of theit books. I’ve been meaning to pick Gone Girl for a while now, but I have already been spoiled with the ending of this book, still I am curious about the rest of the plot so I might pick this up some time next year!

9. Nora Roberts

I just read somewhere that Nora has penned about 225 books!! Whattt?! 😳 And I haven’t read even one of them! Yup, I need to change that ASAP next year.

10. Taylor Jenkins Reid

*Ahem* Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo…yeah, haven’t read that. I’ve seen Taylor’s books a lot around literally everywhere, in all book communities, and I feel very FOMO having not read any of their books and that hopefully will change.
